What is Discover Anthropology?
Discover Anthropology is a website operated by the Royal Anthropological Institute’s Educational Outreach Programme. The aims of the website are to encourage a wider appreciation and understanding of anthropology, and to function as a hub for communication, information, events and activities for all who are interested in learning more about the subject.
What does this website do?
Discover Anthropology provides general information for those new to the subject, as well as particular information on subdisciplines within anthropology, postgraduate degree programmes, and resources for teaching the subject at pre-university levels.
The website brings together a wide range of resources: career profiles, student case studies, historical images, films, teaching plans, external research sites, volunteer and gap year opportunities, events and activities, as well as appropriate internet links and web resources.
Who is the target audience?
There are three main target audiences for Discover Anthropology:
- Secondary and Further Education teachers
- Students interested in finding out about studying anthropology
- School students, the general public, parents and professionals interested in learning more about anthropology
